New Zealand’s residential sections are shrinking.

The fabled quarter-acre blocks of the Kiwi suburban landscape are a fast-fading memory. A quarter-acre equates to about 1,000 square metres, but in New Zealand’s metropolitan centres, houses are now being built on blocks of land half that area – or even less. Auckland is a prime example, with new section sizes reducing by a third in the past three decades; Auckland’s new build sections now have a median size of less than 500 square metres, with the average section about 120 square metres smaller than in the rest of New Zealand.  

So, what do you do when space is tight, but a tank is still required for stormwater mitigation or rainwater storage? Promax has it all figured out.

Our new 1,000 litre Slimline tank is the latest addition to our Slimline range. At 1.8 metres high, it’s the same height as the fence, 2.25 metres long and only 31 centimetres wide, this diminutive 1000 litre tank is the perfect fit in tight spots.

We’ve designed it to fit into smaller sections and to be the least visually intrusive tank on the New Zealand market.

However, it is still stormwater compliant making it an easy way to satisfy council requirements and harvest a decent amount of rainwater.  

Like the rest of our Slimline range, they also include a built-in seismic restraint, which is the simplest to install, by simply bolting it to the concrete slab with four bolts. To make it compliant, the seismic restraint detail is covered by our PS1 so there are no consenting issues.
