Promax Rainwater Collection Kit

Bundle and Save! Cleaner Water to Your Tank

Our Accessory Bundles are an easier, and cheaper way of purchasing the accessories you need to help you get the very best out of your water tank. This kit consists of two Promax products designed to deliver cleaner rainwater to your tank: the Leaf Eater Rain Head and the 90mm First Flush Diverter Kit.

The Leaf Eater fits into your downpipe system and is the first line of defence in stopping larger debris like leaves and branches from getting into your tank. The primary 6 mm mesh screen keeps the bigger stuff out, and it’s backed up with an insect-proof 0.995mm secondary screen to deal with the tiny critters.

The First Flush Diverter Kit can be thought of as the second line of defence in keeping unwanted matter out of your tank.   It enhances rainwater quality by diverting the most contaminated water that washes off your roof with the first few millimetres of rainfall. The kit includes a T junction, ball and drip-drainer, with the first flush diverter easily installed on walls, posts, stands or even under your eaves. Simply add a customised length of pipe (not included) to divert your desired volume of dirty and contaminated water away from each downpipe.

This kits includes:

  • Leaf Eater Rain Head
  • 90mm First Flush Diverter Kit

We recommend you use a professional tank cleaning company to do this. A professional tank cleaning company is able to vacuum the base of your tank without emptying the water. Happy Tanks can clean your Tank if you are in the Auckland and Northland regions. We recommend a Google search to find a local cleaning company for your area.

If you would like to clean the tank yourself, please see the links below for instructions on how best to do this.

Alternatively, you could consider installing a Tank Vac. These will remove build-up of sediment already present and help keep your tank clean all the time.

Yes, a Wallace Seal can be used to seal the pipe to the tank. It is important to note that a Wallace Seal, not a Uniseal, should be used as it has a deeper throat to seal inside the corrugation and is more malleable. We recommend installing the seal no more than 500mm down the side wall of the tank.

All standard Promax ENDURO and XPRESS large tanks are perfect for domestic fire hydrant storage. While 45,000 LTRs is the general minimum requirement for domestic hydrant storage, your local council may have specific requirements. Note for commercial hydrant storage, you may require additional industrial components for compliance. Check with our team if you are needing commercial hydrant storage. For pricing on domestic hydrant tanks, see our domestic water tank range.

Fire service kits are essential for connecting tanks to fire hoses. Fire service kits allow for easy access to tank water and ensure an even and high-pressure flow. The kit is the connection between a tank and a hose, and usually consists of a 100mm fire coupling adaptor, a fire coupling support, a brass gate valve, and a tank fitting. Any kit of this nature must be a Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) Approved Fire Coupling for compliance, functionality and safety. Promax Fire service kits vary according to how the tanks are set up at a particular property. For example, a standard fire kit will connect to one above ground tank. Meanwhile, if two above ground tanks are interconnected and water is drawn from both tanks at the same time, it is possible to buy a dual fire outlet kit; as two tanks are often required to reach the minimum capacity of 45,000 litres, a dual kit is a popular option.

Yes, you can use multiple tanks. Promax offers Dual Tank Fire Service Outlet Kits that allow you to interconnect and draw water from both tanks simultaneously.
